Virtualware participates in the Virtual Reality and Healthcare Symposium
Harvard Medical School hosts the VR and Healthcare Symposium organized by VR Voice from March 5-6, 2018. This edition will feature renowned experts such as Dr. Walter Greenleaf, Skip Rizzo, and other leading figures in the field of therapeutic applications, among whom Julio Alvarez, director of business development for the Health sector in Virtualware, has been invited to participate as an expert in the field of virtual reality linked to neurorehabilitation.
VR Health 2018 brings together scientific, research, clinical, development, investment and professional profiles from around the world to discuss and share experiences on the application of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality in the field of health.
Julio Alvarez as a panelist will present some of the solutions developed by the Virtualware health unit, such as the virtual reality platform to combat social phobia or social anxiety developed for the Department of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience of King´s College, which has also recently been awarded an award at the National eHealth Congress (Spain). Another example he will present is the virtual reality platform for hemianopsia rehabilitation, developed for the Red Cross to help in the rehabilitation of patients who have suffered brain damage, a solution that was a finalist in the GoHA Awards 2018. The rehabilitation product VirtualRehab, which has been on the market for more than 8 years and already has a long history in the field of telerehabilitation, is also one of the examples that Julio will show in his session.
